A rig needs both dimmable and direct circuits — LED and moving fixtures want constant power and their own control, while conventional lamps want dimmers. The panel is sized for the load, protected properly, and located where it can be maintained without crossing the stage.

What a panel installation covers

  • Dimmer and direct (non-dim) circuits in the proportion the rig needs.
  • Circuit protection and distribution, coordinated with the building supply.
  • Outlet positions at bars, truss, floor pockets and control points.
  • Panel location with ventilation and access, away from noise-sensitive spaces.
  • Clear circuit labelling that matches the patch documentation.

Dimmer panels hum and need air. They belong outside the room that is trying to be quiet.
