Pyramid Elante, La Pyramid Hospitalities
A mall-based entertainment venue with shops, restaurants and public corridors on the other side of its walls and ceiling.

For Mr. Sunveer Sondhi of La Pyramid Hospitalities, AV Acoustics delivered acoustic interior consultancy and turnkey execution across Pyramid Elante and several associated hospitality outlets. The condition is the familiar one in mixed-use property: high-energy nightlife and entertainment venues sharing structural boundaries with quieter retail, dining and public-circulation zones.
Why bass is the problem
Mall-embedded entertainment venues are particularly susceptible to low-frequency bass transmission, which propagates through structural elements far more readily than through air. That is why absorptive treatment on the walls does not help: it changes how the room sounds, not what the building carries. Effective isolation demands decoupled wall and ceiling assemblies that interrupt structure-borne bass transmission at source.
It also explains the complaint pattern. What a neighbouring tenant hears is rarely the music — it is the kick drum and the bass line arriving through the slab and the shared wall as a dull thud, with the rest of the programme filtered out on the way. Treating the venue's finishes leaves that thud untouched.
What we built
- Isolated wall-lining systems at every party-wall junction with adjoining common-area spaces.
- Independently suspended ceiling assemblies at the party-ceiling junctions above.
- Build-ups following established mass-spring-mass isolation principles, for a materially higher composite sound-reduction index than the base-building party-wall construction could give on its own.
The base building was never designed to hold a club system, so the isolation had to be added as a separate, independent layer rather than by thickening what was already there.
The result
Live music, DJ performances and crowd noise stay inside the venue, with minimal interference into neighbouring retail tenancies and the public mall corridors. That is a commercial requirement before it is an acoustic one: mall operators hold entertainment tenants to strict acoustic-nuisance covenants, and a venue that breaches them has a tenancy problem, not a sound problem.
The work was delivered across multiple outlets in the La Pyramid portfolio — high-energy hospitality and nightlife acoustics inside dense, mixed-use commercial real estate.
Level on the floor, silence next door. In a mall, the second half is what keeps the venue open.
