Shaurya Nature Club, Ganganagar
An auditorium, restaurant and entertainment zones built inside a steel-framed shell with very little mass in its walls or roof.

Shaurya Nature Club is a private agricultural landholding in Ganganagar reimagined as a multi-functional commercial and entertainment destination. The structure is entirely bespoke: a Pre-Engineered Steel Building (PEB) housing an auditorium, landscaped entertainment zones and a full-service restaurant supporting night-time events and social gatherings.
Why a PEB shell is difficult
PEB steel structures are cost-efficient and quick to erect, which is why they are chosen — but they set demanding acoustic conditions. Lightweight steel roof and wall cladding systems carry minimal inherent mass, and so offer poor natural sound insulation in either direction. The large uninterrupted internal volumes they enclose are also prone to excessive reverberation and standing-wave build-up unless deliberately treated.
So the two problems arrive together. The shell has to be given the insulation its cladding does not provide, and the volume inside it has to be brought under control before it can be used for speech or performance. Neither is solved by the other, and both are far cheaper to design in while the steel is still being detailed than to correct once the building is closed.
The design
- Acoustically rated Double Glazed Unit (DGU) glazing across the building envelope, controlling airborne noise both in and out.
- A calibrated internal absorption and diffusion strategy tuned to the auditorium's performance requirements.
- Separate treatment of the restaurant zone for ambient dining comfort rather than performance.
- Lighting and sound systems coordinated with the acoustic design across the landscaped auditorium and entertainment spaces.
Egress mattered as much as ingress here. The venue hosts amplified night-time entertainment close to surrounding agricultural and residential land, so the envelope had to hold the music in as well as keep outside noise from reaching the auditorium.
The result
A finished facility that performs as an auditorium, a restaurant and an outdoor entertainment venue, built within cost-effective PEB steel construction methods rather than in spite of them. The auditorium is tuned for performance, the restaurant for conversation over a meal, and the envelope holds the difference between the two and the quiet land around them.
As rural and semi-urban land across India is repositioned for experiential hospitality, this is increasingly the shell we are asked to make work.
